A BRIEF BIO & RESUME

I have lived and worked in Provincetown, MA on Cape Cod for most of my adult life except for thirteen years when my husband and I and our children lived in the Washington DC area. I came to Provincetown to study with Henry Hensche at the Cape School of Art. Later I studied privately with Jim Forsberg. Recently I have taken printing workshops at the Fine Arts Work Center. I have exhibited extensively on Cape Cod as well as the Washingon DC area.  Currently I maintain my own open studio at my home in Provincetown MA. I am also a member of the Pen & Brush Inc, in New York City where I have received several awards including a solo show. My husband and I helped to start the Provincetown Theatre Company.  The first year they produced my one act play, “Circles In The Snow”.  Later they produced “A Futuristic Farce”.  When I was living in Maryland I published a book of poetry “Three women”  which included poetry by My sister Prudence Barry, my daughter, Melanie Black, and myself.  Later I printed “Fire & Light” on a friends letter press.  On returning to Provincetown I have published “Litany of Days” and my latest publication,  “Collected Works” including “The Thirsty Fish” & “Latter Days”.  I am also working on an art book version of “The Thirsty Fish”.

Below are links  to pages devoted to these books with excerpts from the poetry as well as information about ordering copies.  There are also links to work by friends and relatives. In a different section under Browsing Galleries are examples of my art work.
