I am also a poet and have published four
books of poetry, "Three Women", "Fire & Light" and
"Litany of Days." The first book was a collaboration between my
sister, Prudence Barry, my daughter Melanie Black, and myself. Prudence
contributed poetry and a short story. Melanie created some of the
illustrations as well as poetry. I contributed illustrations, poetry, and a
short story. "Fire & Light" was self printed on a letterpress
and concerns a spiritual journey. I illustrated the book with a series of
linoleum block prints. "Litany of Days" is a poetic memoir
illustrated by myself with a series of monoprints. My latest book is “Collected
Works” including “The Thirsty Fish” & “Latter Days”. Some of the poetry
is inspired by the poetry of Rumi. “Latter days” is poetry inspired by my
feelings of aging and my response to the events of the last few years.
WEEKEND IN TRURO
The chimes slide down the Truro hills,
Inserting themselves
Into our highway fatigue
And as the weekend passed
And Monday came and time to leave,
I realized the place was haunted.

My latest book
is called “Collected Works” including “The Thirsty Fish” and “Latter Days”.
